Marco Calliari proudly sings his origins: His music is an ode to Italian folklore that he modernizes as he pleases.
Founding member of the heavy metal group Anonymus, guitarist and singer Marco Calliari recorded a total of five studio albums with the Montreal band, from 1989 to 2006. It was in 2003 that he put his family roots to the fore, on the solo album Che la vita.
The singer-songwriter is inspired by Italian folklore, rediscovered during a stay in the land of his ancestors. While participating in the L'Académie du massacre tour with Anonymus and Mononc 'Serge, he created the Rital Fest in 2004. Then, in 2006, he went further with the opus Mia dolce vita, which brings together standards as well as contemporary pieces from the Italian repertoire. From 2007 to 2009, the iconoclast Calliari joined forces with Yves Lambert to present Du reel à la tarentelle, a show presented during the holiday season. The album Al faro was released in 2010, followed by Mi ricordo three years later and One Night in 2016.
Good show!
